Personal Masonic Record
I was raised in Mt. Moriah Lodge #18, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. My initiation into Masonry on May 15, 2012, the progression to Fellow Craft on June 18, 2012, and the elevation to Master Mason on July 31, 2012, laid the foundation for my subsequent affiliations.
I became a 32° Scottish Rite Mason on November 12, 2023. The milestones of becoming a Shriner on August 15, 2023, a Royal Arch Mason on December 13, 2023, and a Knight Templar on October 25, 2025, are part of the same continuing record.

Family Masonic History
Roy C. "Duke" Hinds
Known affectionately as Duke, Roy was a distinguished executive with Noble Drilling Corporation, residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Masonic journey began with a petition for the three degrees on May 1, 1984.
He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice at Pilgrim Lodge #522, now Pilgrim-Rock Lodge, on June 16, 1984. He progressed to Fellow Craft on July 30, 1984, and achieved the rank of Master Mason on September 17, 1984.
Duke also embraced the Shriner path and held membership in Tulsa Court 47, Royal Order of Jesters. His labor concluded on May 3, 1999.

Otto Harris Hinds, Sr.
Duke's father, Otto, was a dedicated 35-year member of Kilwinning Lodge #265. He retired as a machinist for Rock Island Railroad in Pratt, Kansas.
Otto commenced his Masonic journey on September 28, 1952, and ascended through the degrees, culminating in Master Mason on May 23, 1955. His earthly toil ceased on January 2, 1991.
His mother, Margaret A. Dickhut Hinds, found her place in the Order of the Eastern Star.

John Hinds
Otto's grandfather, John, left an indelible mark in the Masonic Lodge in Hutchinson, Kansas. Raised at Matamoras Lodge #374 in New Matamoras, Ohio, he attained the rank of Master Mason on March 14, 1873.
His Masonic path led him to Cable Lodge #299, then Hutchinson Lodge #445, and ultimately to Reno Lodge #140, forming the current Hutchinson-Reno Lodge #124. His Masonic odyssey began on January 10, 1874, and his legacy continues.

Rev. William Harrison Dawson
In my ongoing research, I have discovered that Rev. William Harrison Dawson, my great-great-great grandfather on my grandmother's side, was a member of Ensor Lodge #729 in Philpot, Kentucky.
He served as pastor of the Baptist church in Yelvington, Kentucky, adding another layer to my family's Masonic tapestry.
