Chief Operations Specialist (Surface Warfare)
Adam Wade Hinds, United States Navy (Retired)
Chief Adam Hinds is a native of Pleasant View, Tennessee. He graduated in 2014 from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Religion. He graduated from Lipscomb University in 2016 with a master’s degree in Christian Practice and Conflict Management. He joined the Navy in 2002 as an undesignated seaman later converting to Operations Specialist.
At sea, he served aboard USS Stump (DD 978), USS Vandegrift (FFG 48), and as the Navigator and Training Officer with Patrol Coastal Crew Juliet, serving aboard multiple coastal patrol craft. He completed five shipboard deployments to the Western Pacific, South America, and Central Command in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, counter-narcotics operations in South America and maritime security patrols in the Far East.
His Reserve assignments include Expeditionary Strike Group Seven and Military Sealift Command as a Battle Watch Captain. He served as the Joint Operations Center Watch Supervisor for Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. As the Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer for Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center - Forward Central Command he was responsible for assisting Sailors deployed throughout various countries in Southwest Asia. He also served as the Assistant Foreign Ship Liaison Officer at Navy Region Hawaii coordinating port visits to Pearl Harbor for over 60 foreign naval vessels.
His final mobilization was as the Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer and Deputy Staff Operations Officer for Coalition Task Force Sentinel. He retired from Naval service on December 1, 2023 and currently serves in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Chief Hinds’ personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards). His professional certifications include Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional, CompTIA Project+, Certified Manager and Resilience-Building Leadership Professional Trainer (RBLP-T).
